Going to start out with some quick housekeeping first. We will be starting a new email series with some information other than my random thoughts. Doesn’t mean I’m stopping, just means I’ll probably move the day that I send out the Hello emails. The TechBytes email I do is going to combine with some other useful info so please keep an eye out for that in the next few weeks.

Cats, I like them. I’ve had cats in my house my whole life expect for a few years recently. I did bring home one of the brewery cats, Rocket. A couple years ago, when she must have been about 2 or 3 months old, she wandered into the brewery. All dirty and scruffy fighting for her life out in the industrial wasteland behind Goblet. We always joke that she was trying to not be killed or eaten by Church. He’s a mangy looking cat that roams around the area. Yes, he kind of looks like the cat from the Stephen King book Pet Semitary. He always has a scowl on his face and I swear he’s just waiting for you to turn your back on him so he can attack and have his next meal. Rocket and I became good friends. I am really the only person she would come to when called. She is still very skittish from what I’m guessing is her time in the wild so she’s not the best idea for a brewery cat. She really just hides when other people are around. I thought it would be best to get her out of a noisy and crowded environment and also get a cat back into my life. Rocket is awesome and is always waiting for me when I get home. She’s still young, playful and full of energy, usually at the wrong times. Laura complains that Rocket is mean to her but I attribute that to Laura being like Esmerelda and chasing her around, arms outstretched saying here kitty, kitty. Rocket spooks easy so you gotta be slow and calm.

Now, I know there are some of you out there saying OK, but what about dogs? Well… I’m not a fan and they are not a fan of me. I’ve been bitten by dogs many times in my life. Not sure what it is, maybe I taste good. I don’t like the barking and I don’t like having to take them on walks or let them outside. It’s just too much. It’s like another kid. Cats you can just leave them alone and they do their thing.

So, why am I telling you all about this today? No real reason other than I was looking through pictures trying to kick start my mind and saw a picture of Rocket. Anyway, like Bob Barker used to say… Help control the animal population, have your pet spayed or neutered.
